This video was originally intended for Youtube but I realized that YT will probably pull it down while I was recording this video. It was intended for my Rock the Mid Life channel but now I have a copyright strike (of which I am actively trying to get reversed) so I just cannot take the risk.
Zuck released a statement earlier this week, he is retracting censorship rules. I am not sure I believe this will happen in Canada yet nor do I believe this will happen across the board. His statement said that there are still many topics that they need to censor (in so many words). Do we believe him or is he just trying to get in good with Trump.
As I point out while making commentary on the second video, Zuckerberg was already censoring when Trump was still in office last time. He started to censor 8 months before the 2020 US election. I struggle with his words that it is government related as stated in the the original Zuckerberg statement that you can watch here. Canada has put in place many new censorship legislation that will not be removed until Poilievre becomes PM if he follows on his promises. Current bills that were brought to parliament this past year will allow the government to give you life imprisionment if there is even potential (they think) you will say hate speech (speech they hate).
In this video here are both my thoughts and the thoughts of a few others when it comes to Zuck’s retraction on censorship.
